University of Greenwich

International Business and Economics Department

Our undergraduate economics programmes (BSc Hons Economics, BSc Hons Economics with Banking, and BA Hons Business Economics) have been completely re-designed from top to bottom in order to embrace pluralism.  Greenwich is one of only three universities nationwide that can make that claim.  In addition to a pluralist framework for microeconomics and macroeconomics and quantitative methods, undergraduate students take courses in economic history and the history of economic thought, and have a choice of a number of other pluralist offerings.

Listen to Dr. Sara Gorgoni discuss why university economics departments must respond to student demands for pluralism in economics.

In 2017-18 we will be offering new MSc Economics programmes which, like our undergraduate offerings, have been designed from the ground up to reflect a pluralist outlook.  Greenwich also offers the possibility of MPhil/PhD studies.

Our economics programmes were ranked first in London for student satisfaction in both the Guardian University Guide 2016 and the Complete University Guide 2017, top 10 in the UK for student satisfaction by the Complete University Guide 2017.

Greenwich is one of the top two most globally diverse universities in the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand, by Hotcourses Diversity Index.

We have also been named as one of the "most international" universities on the planet by Times Higher Education magazine.
