Bruno Bonizzi
University of Hertfordshire
I am Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Hertfordshire Business School, where I teach in the Economics and Finance programmes. I did my undergraduate studies at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, before moving to London to do my MSc and PhD at SOAS, University of London. I previously taught at City University and the University of East London, and the University of Winchester.
I am interested in finance and how it relates to the economy. In particular. I am interested in the process of financialisation, especially in the context of emerging and developing countries. I am also interested in the role of institutional investors, particularly pension funds. My doctoral research focussed on pension funds and their investments in emerging market economies. I am a macro-financial economist by background, with a particular interest in Post-Keynesian economics, and I am also keen on reaching out to the fields of Political Economy in addressing these issues.
I aim to be pluralist in the teaching economics at the University, by taking into account a broader range of perspectives, both from different schools of thought in economics and from other disciplines.
Research Interests:
- Financialisation
- International Finance
- Monetary and financial economics
- Political Economy
- Post-Keynesian Economics
