Giorgos Galanis
Goldsmiths, University of London
Dr Giorgos Galanis has studied Mathematics and Economics at the Universities of Athens; City University, London; SOAS, University of London and University of Warwick. Before joining Goldsmiths, Giorgos was working as a visiting lecturer at the Economics Department of City University, London and is also a Senior Research Economist at the New Economics Foundation.
The broad focus of Giorgos' research work is on the research areas of financial instability, income inequality; and on the relationship between the two. The research program that Giorgos pursues can be divided in four more narrowly focused topics: (1) growth and income distribution; (2) distributive justice; (3) ecological and financial macroeconomics and (4) behavioural finance.
Giorgos has taught undergraduate Mathematics at the department of Mathematics and Engineering at City University; Economics for Business for undergraduate students at Warwick Business School and Mathematics for Economists, Financial Economics and Money and Banking at the department of Economics at City University.
